Castle Acre
S James
Regarded by many as one of the best sixes in the area these fine bells are a good example of Taylor’s workmanship and which in 1952 replaced a long unringable peal of 5, cast from earlier bells in 1710 at Swaffham by Thomas Newman of Norwich.
The original 14 century frame has been retained intact above the modern installation. (Roger Peckham)
