Fleggburgh
S Margaret
The Church structure including the nave, chancel and south porch dates from the 14th century and is one of only 53 completely thatched churches in Norfolk. Extensive restoration work to the Church was undertaken in 1876. In 1900 the bell tower was repaired and restored and the 3 ancient bells were re-cast and re-hung. In 1908, among other renovations, a new bell-ringing chamber was created in the tower at 1st floor level, prior to this the bells had been rung from the vestry on the ground floor.
The bells had been silent for near 40 years, however, following a recent project to renovate and restore the bells to a ringable condition and in September 2015 a band of ringers was formed.
