2014 Griston 5-Bell Plate

A very warm, dry but rather humid afternoon saw five bands ring at the 27th annual competition. The ringers, of all ages, climbed the stairs and rang the test piece, all looking forward to the wonderful tea to follow.

Our two judges, Verity McGlashan and Kenny Frostwick, gave some constructive feedback on the afternoons ringing and said the overall standard was good. They then gave out the results as follows.

  • 1st Carbrooke
  • 2nd Ashill Elders
  • 3rd Waylanders
  • 4th Ashill Youth
  • 5th Watton

Congratulations!

Our thanks go to Diana Millard and her helpers for the teas, cakes and strawberries galore! To David Lord for the wheel repairs and Robert Denton for lubricating the bearings as well as calling the changes throughout the day. To Ivor Bard for doing the paperwork and keeping record of the draw and results. To the Vicar and church wardens for allowing us use the bells once again.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday 06 June 2015 for the 28th Annual Competition.
